Kindergarten Funding
Utilising Kindergarten Base Subsidy
Early childhood education centers may choose to allocate a portion of their Kindergarten Base Subsidy funding toward enhancing children's learning experiences, including nutrition and body image focused initiatives. Under the subsidy guidelines:
-
Up to 20% of the base subsidy may be used for quality and age-appropriate resources and extracurricular activities that support the kindergarten curriculum. With lessons readily available to educators via the online portal, we ensure that each lesson can be consistently delivered across the entire class, on each day of the week, fully aligning with Kindergarten guidelines and supporting a high-quality learning experience for all children.
-
Our learning experiences that are integrated into the curriculum, with the early childhood teacher present and participating, may align with these funding provisions.
-
Programs designed to remove barriers to participation for vulnerable children, in consultation with families, may also be supported.
Investing in our multi-faceted program can complement the approved kindergarten curriculum by providing staff education, fostering early knowledge of nutrition and body image, supporting child development, and creating a learning environment that embraces evidence-based nutrition and positive body image practices for all children.

Additionally, these lessons can be tailored to support the developmental needs of children at all stages of early learning, from Nursery through to Pre-Prep.

For further clarification on funding eligibility, centers are encouraged to review subsidy guidelines or consult with the relevant funding body.
